My professional life has always been in catering, and I have over 30 years experience. This includes 7 years in sales with a Dutch wholesaler managing International retail multiples as well as local Independents throughout the U.K. I set up my business after studying Hotel Management & Catering and travelling the world.
I love the flexibility of being my own boss, and when I embarked on my greatest achievement in 2004, having my daughter on my own, my business evolved so that I could work around her.
5 years later when she started full time education, I developed my company selling simple bakes online. These products are now selling throughout the UK. I saw that there was a gap in the market for themed, Home baked products, with no hidden nasties and with the appeal of being locally produced.
Known locally as “Shortbread Sue” the brand was born when I realised that people are prepared to pay premium prices for baked goods which taste and look homemade.
